General Course Information

  • Training location: GE Jenbacher GmbH & Co OG, Achenseestr. 1-3, 6200 Jenbach - Training Center, bldg. 78, 1st floor.
  • On your first training day please arrive half an hour earlier. Before you are allowed access to the site you will have to complete a short safety training.
  • Each participant will receive the relevant training material at the beginning of the course.
  • Drinks during the breaks and lunch in our cafeteria is included.
  • Dress Code: Casual. Jeans, tennis shoes, and t-shirts are acceptable.

MUC - Munich Airport

The train station in Jenbach is only a 2-3 minute walk away from GE Jenbacher. This station is also a central point for public transportation to Achensee and to Zillertal.

General Course Information

  • Every participant will receive the relevant training material at the beginning of the course.
  • Beverages and lunch will be provided at the Waukesha training center for each full day of class. Note: lunch is the student’s responsibility for class days that end at noon. Special meal requirements must be communicated to waukesha.ptc@ge.com prior to the first day of class so accommodations can be made.
  • Students staying at the Wildwood Lodge will receive a complimentary Continental Breakfast Buffet at the hotel. This will be served each morning in the Wildwood Lodge Lobby, starting at 6:30AM. Wildwood guests will also receive vouchers for a cooked to order breakfast at the Machine Shed restaurant (located across the hotel guest parking lot).
  • Evening dining is the student’s responsibility. The Wildwood Lodge Lake Country is conveniently nestled between two award-winning dining establishments, the Machine Shed Restaurant and the Thunder Bay Grille. As an added benefit, Waukesha students may select a complimentary hors d’oeuvre or dessert, with the purchase of an entrée at either restaurant.
  • Dress Code: Casual. Jeans, tennis shoes, and t-shirts are acceptable. Because you will be visiting an industrial manufacturing and service shop, sandals, open toed shoes, shorts, and ripped jeans are not permitted.
  • Product courses such as VHP, VGF, and 275GL+ include hands on shop training.
  • Safety glasses and steel toe shoes are required for all classes that include shop training. If you have your own personal company issued ANSI safety glasses and approved steel toe safety shoes or boots you want to wear during the school, please bring these with you the first day of training. If you do not bring your personal safety equipment, Waukesha gas engines will provide plastic visitor safety glasses and fiberglass toe protectors that you will be required to wear during the shop training exercises.

MKE - Mitchell International Airport

The nearest to Waukesha is the General Mitchell International Airport (MKE). The distance between the airport and GE Waukesha is about 30 minutes by car. Airfares are the student’s responsibilities. Please call the toll-free number 1 (888) 506-2005 or 1 (262) 506-2000 upon arriving at the (MKE) airport. The hotel airport pick-up service is suspended after 10:00 PM.

O'Hare International Airport (ORD) to General Mitchell International Airport (MKE)

Train transportation is available from the O'Hare International Airport (ORD) to General Mitchell International Airport (MKE). Please visit the website amtrak.com for time table, booking, etc. The distance between the General Mitchell International Airport (MKE) and GE Waukesha is about 30 minutes by car.

As a reminder, The Wildwood Lodge Hotel will provide complimentary airport ground transportation to their guests from the Courtesy Vehicle pick-up Area, located just outside Baggage Claim (Area #4) at the airport. Look for the courtesy vehicle with the GE Power & Wildwood Lodge logos on the side of the courtesy van. This hotel also provides complimentary transportation to and from the Product Training Center each day. Transportation will depart from the hotel front lobby promptly at 8:00 AM (7:30AM on test day*). Please allow enough time in the morning to board the van on time. To avoid problems locating the Product Training Center, students are encouraged to take advantage of the hotel transportation.
